These past few days had me stuck in front of my computer monitor reading the various news releases about the Australian bush fires in Victoria. It is extremely saddening and distressed to watch/read that Churchill, a place that I called home for 2 years is on FIRE!
To date, more than a hundred has lost their lives and many many more have lost their homes in various part of Victoria! As I watched the various reports and videos, my heart just would not stop hurting.
Not everyone would understand how I feel, unless you are one of those who have lived in Churchill, Gippsland. I know that there are many concerned people (especially Gippslanders) in Singapore who are worried especially when we have friends who live in the surrounding areas that are on fire!
WW was telling me on the phone that it was as if someone was holding a giant fan and fanning the hills. She could see and hear explosions from her house’s windows. Got to call her again to check if she is alright.
It is even more hateful to know that this senseless loss of lives was partly due to stupid people (idiots!) who are serial arsonists! Bloody murder!
I hope that they get caught soon…and put away for good…25 years of jail is nothing for what you have done!
Lord! I pray for rain to come to Victoria and put out the fire. And keep your people safe!
